Operation Sensors

A sensor converts a physical quantity into an electrical quantity that can be transmitted and processed.

Sensors can activate in two modes:

  • An object is present or not (binary)
  • A specific value has been reached (analogue or digital)

The range of Festo sensors includes:

  • Limit switches that indicate the position of the cylinders in the system.
  • Pressure and vacuum sensors that indicate any exceedances of set parameters.
  • Flow sensors that indicate the amount of air used by the system.
  • Optical and inductive sensors that use optical signals visible to the operator or presence signals.
  • Versions are available for specific applications, including acids, food, and coolant-lubricants.
