With cylindrical roller bearings, the rollers are guided by integral flanges on one or both rings.
The ring with flanges, the rollers, and the cage form a non-separable unit that can be withdrawn from the other ring.

This characteristic facilitates assembly and dismantling operations, especially when load conditions require an interference fit for both rings. These bearings have rollers with slightly tapered ends. Thanks to the resulting variation in linear contact between the rollers and the raceways, damaging pressure concentrations at the edges are avoided.

Bearing Characteristics

Cylindrical roller bearings are designed to support high radial loads and can operate at relatively high speeds.
They are manufactured in single-row, double-row, or four-row configurations and are also available in a full-complement version, meaning they are built without a cage.
