Tapered Roller Bearings

Tapered roller bearings are designed to support combined loads (radial and axial) and are disassemblable, consisting of:

• an inner ring with cage and rollers (cone)
• an external ring (cup)

Single-row tapered roller bearings can support axial loads in one direction only. When subjected to a radial load, they generate an axial force that must be balanced by an opposing force. For this reason, they are generally mounted in pairs and in opposed configuration.

Available in various configurations, tapered roller bearings are ideal for handling high loads and demanding applications. 

They are commonly used in:

• Gearboxes
• Earth-moving machinery
• Steel industry, where they are often made of case-hardened steel to ensure high surface hardness and core toughness, providing resistance to impacts.

These bearings are designed with an optimized contact line between rollers and raceways, reducing harmful edge stress concentrations and increasing reliability. Additionally, the use of a high number of long rollers ensures an exceptional load capacity.
